We are located in Cape Town (RSA) where we design, engineer and manufacture belt grinders and accessories for knife makers, bladesmiths, fabricators, engineering works and various other industries. The VORMAC brand has become synonymous with top quality and performance backed with excellent service which we have been offering since 2016.

2016 – One of the first commercial machines that was built by Vormac. Monstrous, heavy and on castor wheels with a serious appetite for metal.

A more refined version now with speed control built into the chassis. Slotted and welded together with 12mm plate metal spine. Could take contact wheels up to 500mm diameter and had an optional table attachment which could be used for hollow and flat grinding blades.

More compact design of the Vortex machines with motor mounted on the back to reduce chassis. Effective and simplistic gas strut belt tensioning. Many of these machines were sold and are still running smoothly as ever with their owners enjoying their grinders so much they do not want to part with them.

We introduced the innovative ratchet system to the Vortex grinders, with pinch-adjustable positioning of the motor arm so that attachments could be easily fitted with instant belt length compensation. This elevated the user friendliness of these machines to the next level.

Our first SKV2 machine built to provide a small footprint 2000mm (and 72 inch) belt machine to the local South African market complete with ratchet and 90-degree tilt functionality. This machine paved the way for our current grinders which are the crème de la crème in the industry.

SKV2 grinders were upgraded with industrial polyurethane covered drive wheels and a totally new hollow-grinding table attachment was made available.

SKV2 grinders were renamed to VG-PRO and we changed the orange coloured contact wheels and hand knobs to a more subtle silver-grey hammer tone powder coat.

2024 – Now embodying almost a decade of experience and hard work we built the future of belt grinders with features that have never before been found on any belt grinder on earth – literally! The no-weld BLADE machine sports an infinite adjustable belt tensioning cam system, a more advanced zero-zone tilt position moved to the tracking wheel and a nifty mechanism to fine tune tracking during the initial setup.
